Definitions
Compare and contrast essays are multi-paragraph compositions that explain ways in which two (or, very occasionally, more) subjects are similar or different.
In these papers, compare means describing similarities between the subjects. When we are comparing Uberman and Catman, we might describe their tragic backstories, their secret double lives, and their fondness for crime fighting. Basically, the comparison tells what they have in common.
The arch-enemy of comparing is contrasting. When you contrast two things, you explain ways in which they are different. Contrasting Catman and Uberman, we might take note of the way Catman uses his opponent's strength against him, while Uberman depends on brute force.
What Can't these Essays Do?
A compare and contrast essay can cover any topic. But with great power comes great responsibility. The purpose of the essay rules what goes in and what stays out.
In order to make decisions about what to include, writers need to keep one thing in mind: relevance. Relevance helps determine which characteristics are worth comparing and contrasting. We could accurately compare Uberman and Catman by saying that both have two eyes, but that isn't really relevant to our topic. It doesn't help the reader know who would win in a fight.
Your thesis will help you determine the relevance, or irrelevance, of facts. That means you'll need a nice, strong thesis statement, a sentence that lets the reader know your topic and your argument. Something like ''Catman would defeat Uberman, because they are evenly matched in physical abilities, but Catman has greater intellectual abilities.''
How to Get Started
If you're writing a compare and contrast essay, you probably don't have a choice in topic. Your teacher has probably told you to compare and contrast two characters from Romeo and Juliet or the economic systems of Sri Lanka and Japan. These two characters or economic systems will be your two subjects.
You can start by writing qualities of each subject. Then, you can use a Venn diagram to sort the information. A Venn diagram is an organizational tool formed by two overlapping circles that compare two subjects. Each circle represents one subject. Characteristics unique to each subject are written in the non-overlapping parts of the circle, while any similar characteristics are listed in the overlapping part. In this picture, we listed lots of Catman and Uberman's qualities in columns, but we only included relevant ones inside the circles.

Chemical elements, or simply called elements, are chemicals that can not be subdivided into smaller substances, or can not be converted into other chemicals using ordinary chemical methods. Element is a substance that contains only one type of atom
Give me an example of compare and contast of hydrogen and helium.
HapusHI WENI what is the difference between compound and molecule ?
BalasHapus
HapusCompounds are compounds of molecules formed from different atoms, while Molecules are formed when two or more atoms of chemical elements join together.

I want to ask, what should be considered in the compare and contras two objects?
BalasHapusWhich need to be considered are the characteristics, its nature, its usefulness, its benefits, and so on. So from all that we can know the similarities and differences.
HapusSo I can conclude that to see two objects or more, we must know the similarities and differences that two objects have.
